In Leonora, WA, Ian McKay spoke with a mine surveyor about the frustrations of underground mark-ups — slow, inconsistent, and hard to get right. That conversation sparked an idea: a laser tool that made the job faster and more accurate.

The result was the McGarf Alignment Laser, now a global industry standard.
